This is a beautiful place to eat, have a nice breakfast,
dinner or only drink a coffee.
Located in the downtown of Colima (on 5 de Mayo street), this is one of the most traditional
restaurants in Colima; it`s about 35 years old.
This restaurant has a special tale about a "Magic well" (the people in Colima named el pozito
santo) That is in the restaurant, and you can use a coin in this well to make a wish. The restaurant has a traditional
colonial style which creates a very nice atmosphere to spend your time and enjoy the most traditional food of Colima,
including sopitos, atole, tamales, pozole, and many kinds of bread.
El Charcho de la higuera isn`t a very big place, but it is very comfortable. It's open every
day of the week (for breakfast, lunch or dinner), and it is very easy to find. Just a few meters from the restaurant you can
find the church of St. Joseph.
