Tuba is a kind of drink that you can find in Colima. Some people say that it’s originally from the coast of Colima,
but they have known this drink a long time in Guerrero, a state south of here. So we really don’t know the place that
tuba is originally from.
Tuba doesn’t have much history. We just know that is made from a juice extracted from some palm trees, especially from
the coconut palm. In Colima we usually drink it with peanuts, but in other places they drink it with pineapple, onion, strawberry
and other fruits.
If you come here, you will find people who climb into the trees in the public parks and get fresh tuba. Then they sell it
in the streets every day. There are two kinds of tuba: natural and artificial. The natural is white and the artificial
is red. The difference is that the artificial contains pickles and apples.
Tuba is a very sweet, and if you drink it very cold
it is really delicious.
